Puerto Vallarta Beaches

Sayulita
In the jungle and by the ocean, this village offers the wonders of two worlds – fishing and bird watching, surf and horseback riding, hiking and scuba diving. Its green slopes are a treat of views and strolls, and its fun beach a great place to enjoy seafood. In Sayulita tourist activities curiously blend with the every day life of a Mexican rural village creating its own surfing magic.

Punta de Mita
It’s the small peninsula, which closes the bay to the north. It is locally well known for the beauty of its volcanic coves and crystal clear waters. Most of this area is today part of the Hotel Four seasons and Punta Mita golf course, though at Playa Anclote, you may still appreciate the tranquility of this serene corner or rent a panga to visit the marieta Islands.

La Cruz de Huanacaxtle
Is a quaint fishing village with a small dock, for which there are plants to built a marina. With the appeal of a small atmosphere and the service of a few restaurants, La Cruz has become a favorite location to have a villa by the beach.

Bucerías
Has one of the loveliest beaches to the north of the bay. It’s a great place for dinner with a variety if different options from casual beach restaurants to gourmet dining. The town is popular for its friendly appeal, and many regular Canadian and US visitors have found in Bucerias a second home.

Conchas Chinas
A major seaside area of villas and condominium apartments just south of town.

Mismaloya
This is where tourism began, where the beauty of Vallarta became known to the world. Hugged by curling green slopes, this small bay swims in romance. Just enjoy the scenery, while you drink a piña colada at the “Night of the Iguana”. Diving up the slopes you’ll find the outlet of a river known today as El Edén, where rocks from a natural pool.

Boca de Tomatlán
Boca is a beautiful narrow bay by the outlet of a river. There is hardly any tourist development here, and its beach has become the boarding ground for all those pangas heading to southern shores. Though it seems like a place in transit, Boca is actually a very popular beach to enjoy fresh fish while admiring the striking beauty of this inlet nestled on huge rocks.

Las Ánimas
Many visitors and locals claim this is the most beautiful beach in the bay. Surrounded by lush jungle, its soft sand and smooth waves allow for easy swimming and peaceful sunbathing. And once you’ve completely relaxed. Las Ánimas Hill pamper you with fresh seafood.

Quimixto
Many organized tours take you to Las Ánimas, Quimixto or Yelapa, and part of the fun is crossing the bay by boat. Quimixto is the closets and easiest location to reach the waterfall by foot or horseback riding. Lined with only a few palapa restaurants, its secluded beach and peaceful jungle scenario will restore you energy. Local natives produce Raicilla licor.

Yelapa
Yelapa resembles a virgin island with a small village and a river streaming through the jungle. There are charming bungalows to spend the night in the company of its friendly village people, who are used to seasonal visitors.
